When we think of the epitome of that thick double layered satin from decades past, ala Gilda style, this dress is it. This is the one of the thickest satins in a gown we’ve found. Its so weighty that it was given its own interior boning for structure. No need for a bra because the bust is formed with the same boning! Deep fold over bustline that continued all the way around the back. Rhinestone clear crystal straps bejewel the shoulders. Light pleating at the hips which connect to pleating in the back creating a semi bustle effect. Straight panel down the back of the skirt into a kick pleat. Floor length dress with a front curved slit allowing for easier walking. A beautiful, elegant, witchy gown with everything you ever wanted out of a not-so-little black dress.
Which Witch? Is a book written by Eva Ibbotson, 1979
You can’t go wrong with any pair of heels you would like. Match in black or do a contrasting color, even clear lucite heels would be spectacular. Matching crystal collar please if you do the jeweled heels! If you feel like paying tribute to Gilda, opera length black gloves are a must!

Excellent, very wearable, condition. Black satin is consistent throughout, there is one spot of fading at the bottom of the front right panel of the skirt. Not noticeable when worn but is visible when its stared at.
Our vintage clothing pieces are true antiques, not modern reproductions or facsimiles. As such, unless specifically stated that they are “new old stock”, each piece should be considered a previously worn treasure that will show varying levels of use and potential condition issues. Please read every section of our vintage clothing product pages to best understand exactly what you are purchasing before placing your order. All vintage clothing is sold “as is” with no warranty and all vintage clothing sales are final. Please reach out before you purchase if you have any questions about a specific piece and one of our knowledgeable customer support agents will be glad to assist you.
Finding undiscovered troves of brand new vintage clothing is exceptionally rare, so each item in our vintage shop is a unique listing with a first-come, first-served setup. We cannot hold or reserve items and once they have sold, it is unlikely that we will ever get another in our store again. If you see something you love, make sure to buy it or it might not be here on your next visit.
