Smart and gorgeous, this dress has it all. Cool apple red raised pinstriped fabric that gets accented with a beautiful blood orange dyed satin. What’s more this dress has a number of saucy details. Peekaboo neckline that ties in the back at the nape of the neck, and even more peekaboo in the open shoulder detailing. The back wants to play peekaboo too, but then closes itself with matching fabric buttons midway. Waist cinches with trompe-l’oeil sash belt and ties in a generous bow in the back. Pleated cap sleeves in the matching orange satin, so deco. Speaking of deco, the cut lines on this pattern are just that. Front and back features V-cuts that point to all the right places with a little bit of stretch for a figure hugging fit. We love Anni, front to back.
Anni Pavlovich, was the character Joan Crawford played in Dorothy Arzner’s The Bride Wore Red. The plot is more of an imaginative predecessor of those transformative movies that the 1990s loved so much, and Joan Crawford is being her best as peak 1930s Joan Crawford. Arzner, the trailblazing film director, could take up an entire page on just the basic facts of her fantastic life but that’s for another time. We love her movies simply put. As for her and Joan, besides making great films together, were also rumored to have been in a relationship.
Just the right hair, coiffured, and black shoes, patent. The belt ties well in a number of ways, but our favorite is in a knot letting it fall like a handkerchief in the back, fluttering in the wind, as if to say hello to all who stare.

Great, very wearable condition. The fabric has experienced some very light fading towards the bottom of the dress, not noticeable when worn. All buttons have original fabric and are intact, first button has some of the fabric fraying.
