A glorious and rare piece from the 1950s. Corded spiderwebs on the bust and on the hips, wrap their way all across the front to the bottom. They came in a variety of pastels, and this one is in a perfect creamy yellow tone. Prong rhinestones decorate around the center of the webs, scalloped edges on the sleeves and the POCKETS. These two oversized scalloped pockets were made like they knew the future of our technology, and what’s even more fun about them is their edges fanning out giving such wonderful attention to detail and oomph to the hips. Scoop neckline with a nipped waist, side metal zipper closure. A unique rarity, like you.
Spinneret – An organ a spider uses for producing threads of silk from the secretion of silk glands.
Matching yellow heels if you can, or black will always do. Lucite heels with the rhinestone backs would be even better, to match those lovely prong rhinestone details in the dress. This dress is so spectacular it could easily be worn with flats, and with those large pockets you could do without a purse.
Bust – 36 inches
Waist – 28 inches
Length – 45 inches
Excellent, very wearable, condition. Some minor marks in back, one tiny mark in the front of the skirt at the bottom. Small pinkish color stain on the web cording at the top under the opening of the neckline. Minor underarm wear. Metal decorative grommets have experienced wear on the paint. Cording is in excellent and stable condition. Yellow color is even throughout and vibrant.
Our vintage clothing pieces are true antiques, not modern reproductions or facsimiles. As such, unless specifically stated that they are “new old stock”, each piece should be considered a previously worn treasure that will show varying levels of use and potential condition issues. Finding undiscovered troves of brand new vintage clothing is exceptionally rare, so each item in our vintage shop is a unique listing with a first-come, first-served setup. We cannot hold or reserve items and once they have sold, it is unlikely that we will ever get another in our store again. If you see something you love, make sure to buy it or it might not be here on your next visit.
